Digital chief Waboso to leave NR
David Waboso is retiring from Network Rail in March.
The 63-year-old Managing Director of Digital Railway joined NR in 2016 from Transport for London, where he led a number of Tube upgrades.
In a briefing to staff, NR Chief Executive Andrew Haines said: “David has made a huge contribution during his time here and he has transformed the Digital Railway programme and its relationships with industry, government and the supply chain, using innovative procurement.
“Through his skilful leadership and passionate advocacy, DR is now becoming a reality on ever-growing sections of our railway system. He leaves a fantastic legacy of a clear direction for delivery through Control Period 6 and beyond, integrating track and train to deliver benefits for passengers and freight users.”
Haines said there would be an announcement about “transitional arrangements” in the near future.
