‘37’ stored ahead of major exam

Direct Rail Services 37419 Carl Haviland 1954-2012 has been stored at LORAM’s Derby RTC facility.

The Class 37/4 was on hire to Greater Anglia, and had been used on the operator’s ‘short set’ for eight weeks before being replaced by 37405 on December 16.

It ran light to Derby on December 17, and was stored the following day. The locomotive is to undergo a major exam (which had been delayed) before returning to traffic.

The ‘37’ replaces 37402 Stephen Middlemore 23.12.1954-8.6.2013, which has also undergone a major exam at the site.
