RAIL’s verdict: Green Party MP Caroline Lucas overlooked the fact that controlling the rate of fares increases is already a function of government, in this tweet posted on January 2.

RAIL Managing Editor and Events Director Nigel Harris was quick to point out this glaring oversight by responding on Twitter: “It is appalling to see a party leader apparently does not know that the fare increases she complains about are government decisions. That’s surely the only explanation for such an ignorant and misleading comment…?”
