LNER diversions run via Ely

- ANTONY GUPPY.

Engineering work at Huntingdon forced Grand Central, Hull Trains and London North Eastern Railway services to be diverted via Ely and Cambridge over the weekends of January 5/6 and January 12/13. GC and HT use Class 180 diesels, while most LNER trains were operated by High Speed Trains. However, a handful of electric-hauled trains were diverted, and therefore hauled by DB Cargo Class 67s. On January 5, DBC 67003 hauls the 0548 Edinburgh-London King’s Cross past Ely Dock Junction.
