Ex-LNER ‘43’ moved to Barrow Hill

-

The last of the LNER Class 43s stored at Gascoigne Wood was moved as part of a stock transfer on October 16.

Porterbrook’s 43290 was destined for East Midlands Railway but has instead moved to Barrow Hill along with the coaches from NL54 (also an LNER set of Mk 3s destined for the Midland Main Line).

EMR has confirmed that instead of the planned nine former LNER High Speed Trains, it will only use five. Currently three full sets are in traffic, with a further two to follow by the December timetable change. These will then remain in traffic until May.

The stock from NL54 features Trailer Kitchen Buffet First

(TFKB) 40740, Trailer First (TF) 41151/152, Trailer Standard

(TS) 42128/182/186/190 and Trailer Guard’s Standard (TGS) 44080.

Already at Barrow Hill was former LNER 43277, which is also owned by Porterbrook.
