Crossing upgrade at Swineshead

Swineshead level crossing on the busy A17 is being upgraded in a £1 million scheme.

Starting on December 7, Network Rail will remove the old crossing, track and ballast. New, stronger concrete will be installed, and track laid into that - a first for the region. NR says this will make the crossing quieter both for users and nearby residents. It should also require less maintenance.

Buses will replace trains between Sleaford and Boston on December 12/13.
