Euston tunnel protester removed
A fourth person, a minor, has been removed from tunnels at Euston Square Gardens, dug by protesters campaigning against what they believe to be HS2’s environmental impact ( RAIL 924).
Once assessed by medics, the minor was handed over to Metropolitan Police. It was believed that five protestors remained underground as this issue of RAIL went to press.
An HS2 spokesman told
RAIL on February 17: “We continue to do all we can to end this illegal action safely. We reiterate our message to those underground to comply with the court order and exit the tunnel immediately - for their own safety and that of the HS2 staff, agents and emergency service personnel involved.”
