Carmont task force findings

Findings made by two task forces established following the fatal derailment at Carmont last August ( RAIL 912, 913) will be shared with Secretary of State for Transport Grant Shapps within the next month.

Rail Minister Chris HeatonHarris revealed in a Commons Written Reply to Grahame Morris (Labour, Easington) on February 9 that both task force reports, commissioned to examine Network Rail’s response to climate change, have been submitted to the infrastructure company.

Heaton-Harris said NR is currently discussing the contents of the reports with the task force leaders, Lord Robert Mair and Dame Julia Slingo.
