Northern launches accessibility fund
Northern has launched a £250,000 fund aimed at improving access to stations across its network, with community groups invited to bid for up to £50,000 in funding for selected schemes.
The fund is open to voluntary organisations, community groups, charities and stakeholders. It is being led by the independent Northern Accessibility User Group and is supported by Northern.
Ideas could include innovations which make train travel simpler and easier, raise awareness of rail services, or encourage people to travel by train for the first time.
