Coastal defence wall at Hessle
A footpath between Hessle and North Ferriby has reopened, after Network Rail completed work to protect a nearby railway embankment from coastal erosion in early February.
Since March 2020, NR has installed a coastal defence wall 138 metres long and 20 metres deep, at a cost of £8 million.
The section of the footpath affected was resurfaced. NR and Story Contracting also installed a concrete pad for new stables, fixed sheds, cleared rubbish, and replaced all fencing and gates at the nearby North Ferriby Riding for the Disabled Group.
