Drainage upgrade at Timperley

A £1.3 million pumping station is being installed at Timperley (Greater Manchester), with 300 metres of new track drainage to alleviate flooding between Stockport and Altrincham.

Work started on February

15, with signalling equipment upgraded between Cuddington and Northwich stations during the seven-day blockade.

Buses replaced trains between Manchester, Altrincham, Northwich, Mouldsworth and Chester.
