First WMT ‘170’ joins EMR fleet

Two-car 170530 is the first Class 170 cascaded from

West Midlands Trains to East Midlands Railway.

The Turbostar is currently used for crew training at Lincoln Central, and will be followed imminently by 170531.

Both are former three-car Class 170/6s, although their Motor Standard (MS) centrecars have transferred to CrossCountry ( RAIL 924) and they have been renumbered by taking 100 from their original identity.
