Work begins at White Rose station

Construction has commenced on a new station at White Rose in Leeds.

The £26.5 million project is being delivered by Network Rail in partnership with the West Yorkshire Combined Authority, Leeds City Council, Munroe K and the Department for Transport.

Located between Morley and Cottingley on the main trans-Pennine route to Manchester via Huddersfield, the two-platform station will improve access to the adjacent White Rose office park, shopping centre and bus interchange.

West Yorkshire Mayor Tracy Brabin said: “Growing our economy is a key priority, but we are very clear that growth needs to benefit everyone in the region. To achieve this, we need a reliable and efficient transport system, which is why I’m pleased to see work start on our new, fully accessible rail station at White Rose.”

Construction is expected to continue into 2023.
