Track remodelled at Water Orton
CrossCountry passengers travelling into Birmingham from the east have been thanked for their patience during eight days of disruption for HS2 engineering work - and been warned of more to come in the summer.
Services into New Street from Coleshill Parkway were disrupted between February 19-27 to enable track remodelling in the Water Orton area, installation of new drainage, and local resignalling. Preparatory HS2 work was also carried out at Duddeston.
A major scheme is the two-year demolition and replacement of Saltley Viaduct over the new alignment, starting in August. The current road structure is too low for trains to pass underneath.
