All-night services to return to Jubilee Line
London Underground is moving closer to having all-night services across its entire network, with the return of Jubilee Line trains planned for Saturday May 21.
Transport for London has also indicated that the Northern and Piccadilly overnight timetable will also be returning during the summer.
All were suspended in March 2020 at the beginning of the COVID pandemic, but off-peak travel is recovering faster than other types of journeys, with ridership at 80% of pre-pandemic levels.
The Jubilee service is significant because of its connections with the Night Overground, which operates between Highbury & Islington and New Cross Gate.
The revival of night services began last November on the Central and Victoria lines, but a full reintroduction has been delayed by the need for training, as well as by engineering closures such as part of the Northern Line to enable completion of the Bank station remodelling.
TfL recognises their importance for the capital’s economy because it provides safe and quick travel options for the estimated 1.6 million working community and tourists.
Despite strike action by the RMT union, TfL is running a normal service on the Victoria Line each weekend and a regular service on the Central Line.
