Beaulieu Park revisions on public display
A four-week public consultation is taking place into the proposed Beaulieu Park station, which will serve 14,000 new homes in and around Chelmsford.
Network Rail has submitted its amendments to planning permission granted back in May 2013, and the plans will be on public display until April 20.
The proposed three-platform station forms part of the £252 million regeneration for the area. It has been delayed by concerns over its high construction cost.
Its design will segregate express services from local all-stations trains from London Liverpool Street. There will be 500 cycle storage spaces as well as 700 car park places, a bus interchange, a pick-up and drop-off area with dedicated taxi bays, and pedestrian routes to the station.
Subject to approval, construction could begin later this year for passenger services to commence in 2024.
