Scotland bids to reduce car trips

Sustrans Deputy Chief Executive Officer John Lauder has joined Scotland’s Railway, on an 18-month secondment to lead a strategic project to reduce car journeys to the nation’s railway stations.

The strategy will examine how to encourage more use of walking, cycling and public transport when arriving at stations, as part of the Scottish Government’s target to reach net zero emissions on the rail network by 2035 and across the country by 2045.
