Students receive useful experience
Students at Harrow and Uxbridge College are benefiting from a tailored programme of work experience on the southernmost portion of HS2.
The 16- to 18-year-olds studying towards a BTEC in construction or a T-Level in science have been given industry placements with the Skanska Costain STRABAG joint venture (SCS JV), which is delivering the London Euston-Northolt section of the new railway.
The initiative enables each student to spend 315 hours (the equivalent to 45 days) working on construction-focused assignments and learning how major infrastructure schemes are developed.
