A celebration of freight collaboration
On April 28, GB Railfreight marked 20 years since the freight operator and the Port of Felixstowe launched an inaugural intermodal service for global shipping company MSC. Since that first service, GBRf has gone on to operate some 50 daily services nationwide, of which 14 are for MSC. Meanwhile, the Port has expanded from 28 to 76 daily trains, with 30 of these belonging to GBRf. Following this expansion, GBRf transported 245,240 containers in and out of the port in 2021 and has launched three new services out of Felixstowe in just the last 12 months. To mark the occasion, 66792 is named Collaboration by (left to right) MSC UK Managing Director Dan Everitt, Port of Felixstowe CEO Clemence Cheng, and GBRf CEO John Smith.
