Bank branch back open for business
The Bank branch of London Underground’s Northern Line was due to reopen between Moorgate and Kennington on May 16 (after this issue of RAIL went to press).
It follows a 17-week planned closure of the route as part of the Bank Station Capacity Upgrade project to increase capacity at the station by 40%.
Passengers will benefit from a new, wider southbound Northern Line platform plus a more spacious concourse.
The final stages of work at Bank are to be completed by the end of the year, with work continuing on step-free access to the Northern Line, a new station entrance on Cannon Street, and new and more direct interchanges between the DLR, Northern and Central Lines.
