Located on stand F17, SE will be bringing along its new Compact Principal Supply Point that provides secure power to signalling systems.

Following successful trials with Network Rail in Derbyshire and at four locations in Scotland, the Compact PSP has proved that it can provide up to 80% in cost savings over its lifecycle compared with conventional PSPs.

As it is much smaller, lighter, and easier to transport and install, it also also be delivered while achieving an 86% carbon footprint saving compared with the larger version.

Its small size gives engineers and NR greater freedom in system architecture by facilitating the use of more Compact PSPs, which allows greater use of short feeder runs. This enables supply points to be placed closer to the equipment, so the electrical supply has less distance to travel - reducing losses and cable sizes. This is what makes it a more costeffective solution.

The size of the Compact PSP also makes it ideal for placement in trackside areas where space is limited, or for islands of signalling assets where a traditional PSP would not be suitable.
