HS2 home to 100 ‘back-to-workers’
Almost 100 members of HS2 Ltd’s workforce have been brought back into full-time railway employment under a scheme created by a consortium of construction companies.
Community interest company BuildForce sets out to attract people who used to be in the military, engineering and building sectors. Some of them may be retired or off work, but still have something to offer.
The partnership with HS2, which reckons it will support 34,000 jobs over the next two decades, has found work for 40 veterans in recent months, and a further 50 have since been job-matched.
