View Azuma’s Durham Coast diversion

LNER has released rare in-cab and drone footage of an Azuma service between Newcastle and York being diverted via the Durham Coast Line. Now available on the operator’s YouTube channel, the eight-minute video is narrated by driver Dylan Leonard, who takes viewers on a southbound journey from Tyneside through his native North East, with Sunderland, Seaham, Easington, Hartlepool (pictured) and Yarm among the places featured. The video forms part of LNER’s ‘In the Driver’s Seat’ series, which covers the operator’s 956-mile route with a selection of drivers sharing their experiences and pointing out landmarks and places of interest.
