‘37’ delights at diesel gala
Owned by the National Railway Museum, 37719 (D6700) arrives at Rothley with a service from Loughborough Central-Leicester North during the Great Central Railway’s Spring Diesel Gala on April 30. The ‘37’ was returned to traffic earlier this year, after a five-year loan deal was agreed with the Heavy Tractor Group. The 62-year-old locomotive joined the national collection in 2001, following its withdrawal from frontline service by English, Welsh & Scottish Railway.
