Help for the blind at TPE stations…

Toilets at all 16 staffed TransPennine Express stations have been fitted with a new electronic device to help blind and visually impaired people use the facilities.

The technology, developed by Adi RoomMate, can be found at: Brough, Cleethorpes, Dewsbury, Grimsby, Huddersfield, Hull Paragon, Malton, Manchester Airport, Middlesbrough, Northallerton, Scarborough, Scunthorpe, Selby, Stalybridge, Thirsk and Thornaby.

Braille handrails have also been installed on both sets of stairs at Scunthorpe station. Grimsby will follow suit.
