Better safety at Peak Forest site
Network Rail has completed a two-year, £600,000 project to improve safety at Dove Holes Quarry rail sidings at Peak Forest, in Derbyshire.
Funded as part of NR’s £22 million Freight Safety Improvement Portfolio (FSIP), the project included construction of a new 470metre safe walking route between the sidings, and train crew facilities featuring low-level lighting and a new staircase on the embankment.
