Strong attendance at record-breaking Rail Live

-

The UK’s largest outdoor rail exhibition was on track to record healthy attendance figures as this issue of RAIL went to press, despite disruptive rail strikes.

On June 22, more than 2,800 industry professionals flocked to the two-day show in the first two hours after the doors opened under sunny skies at 0930.

This number is up on comparative figures for last year’s

Rail Live, in line with a trend in which Rail Live 2022 secured 10% higher registrations in the days and weeks beforehand.

RAIL Managing Editor and Events Director Nigel Harris said he was “very pleased” with the strong start to the show, which this year features over 230 exhibitors (a record).

It comes in a week when operations on the rail network have been significantly disrupted by a three-day national rail strike.

This resulted in some unavoidable last-minute revisions to the Rail Live line-up, including the withdrawal of direct services operated by Vintage Trains from Birmingham New Street and Worcester to the show’s private platform at Long Marston.
