High-tech study of passenger needs
Passengers, not infrastructure, are being put first in HS2’s computer-driven design of its structures that are inspired by the car industry.
A six-month survey of travellers’ movements at the present Euston station will allow a detailed study to be made of passenger movement on the forecourt, concourse, and at ticket gates.
The collaborative ‘Future Stations Living Lab’ project, led by OpenSpace Group Ltd, has input from Network Rail, Avanti West Coast, and the University of Birmingham.
