Curzon Street viaducts approved

Birmingham City Council has granted planning permission for two viaducts that will carry HS2 into the city’s Curzon Street station.

Curzon Viaduct No. 3 and Lawley Middleway Viaduct are both part of the station approach area, which comprises four connected viaducts between Duddleston Junction Viaduct and Curzon Street itself. The other two viaducts (Curzon Street No.1 and No. 2) are currently subject to a planning application.

All four structures are being designed by a joint venture comprising Mott McDonald, SYSTRA and architects Weston Williamson + Partners, working on behalf of HS2’s civils contractor Balfour Beatty VINCI JV.
