Refurbishment for Northern EMUs
Northern’s programme of digital upgrades to its fleet continues, with its Class 333 electric multiple units the latest to be improved for passengers.
Enhancements include USB charging points/plug sockets, bright LED lighting, internal digital displays with real-time information, and high-definition CCTV cameras.
The trains, operating on the Skipton-Bradford Forster Square and Leeds-Ilkley routes, are the latest to undergo the ‘digital makeover’.
“We are committed to delivering further improvements for our passengers to enjoy,” said Northern Chief Operating Officer Tricia Williams.
“It’s fantastic to add the Class 333s to the roll call of refurbished units on our network. I am grateful to our partners, including Angel Trains, Yellow Rail and our team at Northern, who have worked hard to deliver the refurbishments.”
Angel Trains Chief Operating Officer David Jordan added: “It is exciting to see the Class 333s undergo refurbishment which will dramatically improve journeys for Northern passengers. We look forward to seeing more of these upgraded units on the tracks soon.”
