ORR offers online learning on risk management
The Office of Rail and Road has opened a free online learning site enabling health and safety professionals to gain further understanding of how to use the industry’s Risk Management Maturity Model (RM3).
The railway regulator developed RM3 in 2019, to assist organisations to manage risks, identify areas for improvement, and provide a benchmark for year-onyear comparison.
ORR’s elearning platform has two modules, so that users can understand how RM3 works and how to apply it. Videos provide examples of how RM3 is used and how to conduct assessments correctly.
ORR created the elearning in collaboration with Network Rail, the Rail Safety and Standards Board (RSSB), the Light Rail Safety and Standards Board (LRSSB), East Midlands Railway (representing train operators) and the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health.
■ ORR is to modernise and simplify its Investment Framework document, which sets out legislation and processes for anyone wishing to invest in the rail industry. Substantive changes to the policy are not proposed, but the ORR invites comments on its clarity. The consultation (at bit.ly/3I6sYsy) closes on July 29.
