New bridge boosts Pershore facilities
A new bridge and car park will be built at Pershore station in Worcestershire, as part of a £2 million investment by Wychavon District Council.
Members of the council’s executive board have voted to allocate £500,000 towards the building of a new £1.5m fibre-reinforced polymer ‘flow footbridge’.
It will link the station to land at Dawes Way in Pinvin, where a new £1.5m council-funded car park with 300 spaces will be built upon completion of the bridge.
Improving parking and walking/cycling links to the Great Western Railway-managed station is said to be crucial in supporting plans for 2,000 new homes at nearby Throckmorton.
