Fans: plan around Hope Valley work

Football fans travelling to watch the Women’s Euros at venues in Sheffield, Manchester and Rotherham are being asked to plan ahead to avoid disruption from Network Rail’s £145 million Hope Valley upgrade.

Limited train services and replacement buses are running between Manchester and Sheffield on each weekend in July, while Dore & Totley, Grindleford, Bamford and Hathersage stations will be closed completely.

Once complete, the project will deliver platform extensions, a new platform at Dore, a new loop near Bamford, a new overbridge at Hathersage, and signalling improvements.
