SWR body-worn cameras for staff
South Western Railway is phasing in body-worn cameras to tackle anti-social behaviour on its trains and at stations.
The cameras will be worn by guards, customer service assistants, rail community officers and revenue protection staff to act as a deterrent to assaults, threats and abuse. It follows an initial trial for staff working out of Fratton depot.
The cameras are being integrated into operations at Bournemouth, Richmond, Weymouth, Farnham, Woking, Eastleigh, Portsmouth and Guildford and will soon include staff at Salisbury and Basingstoke.
