Work begins on Victorian viaduct

Three weekends’ worth of engineering work to refurbish the 134-year-old wrought iron Mill Stream viaduct near Ashurst station began on July 2.

Buses were due to replace trains between Oxted and Crowborough on the weekends of July 2-3, 9-10 and August 6-7. A second phase of the £3.5 million project is due to be delivered from OctoberNovember.
