Northern ‘150’ boosts TfW stock

Having arrived on loan from Northern the day before, Transport for Wales 150270 works the 1356 Barry Island-Pontypridd at Taff’s Well on July 16. The move is designed to alleviate stock shortages at TfW, caused by a fire onboard 150240/242/279 at Craven Arms (Shropshire) on May 22. Of the three ‘150s’, only 150240 remains in traffic, leaving the operator with just 34 out of 36 trains operational.
