Northern trains apprentice crews

Northern is recruiting more than 250 apprentice drivers and conductors.

Its training academy includes virtual reality technology for newcomers to the industry, and there are plans to step up the numbers being trained.

Meanwhile, Northern says it has vacancies for conductors based at Barrow, Leeds, Newcastle and Sheffield. Applications are processed via its website.
