Man charged over Reading death
A man has been charged with murdering a train passenger who died on a platform at Reading station.
Kirkpatrick Virgo (42), of Whitby Road, Slough, appeared at Reading Magistrates’ Court on August 1. He was charged with murder and possession of an offensive weapon, and was remanded in custody.
Thomas Parker (24), who was described by his family as “a kind, thoughtful and caring son”, was attacked at the station following an altercation on a train.
British Transport Police said officers were called to Reading’s Platform 8 shortly before midnight on Saturday July 30.
