Merseyrail hands out vouchers

Merseyrail handed out 7,500 shopping vouchers worth up to £150 to peak-hour passengers at 16 of its busiest stations between August 6-13, to compensate for cancelled and late-running services.

The system has been badly affected by rolling stock shortages and infrastructure problems caused by the heatwave.
