More Class 66s head for GBRf

GB Railfreight is to take 66301-305 from Beacon Rail, as expected, when their lease with Direct Rail Services expires in October. They will retain their numbers.

The ‘66/3s’ were initially used by the now defunct Fastline Freight from 2008. When Fastline went bust, they moved to DRS in late 2010 and went into traffic from March 2011.

GBRf is also in negotiations for up to 11 further Class 66s from mainland Europe, which would be numbered from 66306 onwards.
