Transport body plans national survey

Sustainable Transport Midlands Chief Executive Harry Burr has launched an online ‘ourVision’ consultation exercise.

He hopes to secure 75 responses by November 1 to his group’s views on promoting new railway routes, stations, tram routes and more buses.

Burr is promoting policies to devolve transport decisions and funding to local and regional authorities, East West Rail electrification, and restoration of HS2’s eastern leg via the East Midlands Hub and Sheffield. Other issues he wants to address include fares and accessible transport, and rural and urban connectivity.

STM, which has a board of five directors with Burr (15) as its lead, has generated interest from local authorities, companies, and transport campaign groups.
