Improvements at Newcastle Central

Network Rail was due to undertake a package of improvements at Newcastle Central on September 17-18 and 24-25, and October 1-10.

Diversionary routes and rail replacement bus services were due to be in operation on these dates, to enable NR to renew 750 metres of track as well as five sets of switches and crossings.

Overhead line equipment and level crossings were also expected to be renewed, while routine maintenance also takes place.
