New smartcards for Bristol area
Great Western Railway’s new pay-as-you-go smartcard tickets launched across the Bristol area on August 30.
They are valid on CrossCountry and Transport for Wales services, as well as the operator’s own routes.
Passengers are promised the cheapest walk-up flexible fare, and weekly season ticket prices have been capped between two valid stations, seven days a week.
In the longer term, it is hoped that Bristol bus travel will be brought into the scheme.
