December milestone

Full details have yet to be released, but the key milestone is mid-December, when AWC introduces some of the improvements it planned when it won the franchise, such as additional stops on the Trent Valley, and faster journey times between Coventry and Euston.

Liverpool continues with its hourly service, but AWC plans to introduce extras when the new rolling stock arrives. This includes ten seven-car Hitachi Class 807 EMUs to be delivered from Newton Aycliffe.

When ordered in December 2019, the full ‘807’ fleet was due to be in service by December 2022. The first train has yet to be delivered and a new in-service date has yet to be revealed.
