Passenger numbers down
The disruption came on a day Transport for London had described beforehand as the biggest challenge the organisation had ever faced.
But TfL found that passenger numbers were generally much lower than before the pandemic.
It pointed out that most shops and businesses across London were closed for the day.
Only Green Park Tube station had a significant increase, with 150% of pre-COVID customers.
There were 1.34 million journeys on the Tube on the day of the funeral: 64% of pre-pandemic levels compared with a baseline of the August 2019 Bank Holiday, and only 81% of the level two Sundays previously.
Overall, the number of contactless or Oystercard payments across London, and the total number of bus journeys, were also well down on a 2019 Bank Holiday baseline.
