Trains bring in ballast for Leven line

Freightliner has been operating ballast trains from Ravenstruther (Lanarkshire) to the new Leven line in Fife in recent months, with daily deliveries. On September 13, during the final week of operations, Freightliner 66549 approaches Carluke with the empty 1219 Thornton-Millerhill via Ravenstruther for loading. It is expected that further trainloads will restart as works progress to reinstate the Leven line by the end of 2024.
