Merseyrail amends timetable to counter leaf fall

-

Merseyrail was due to make some minor changes to its timetable on the Southport, Chester and Ellesmere Port lines from October 3 (after this issue of RAIL went to press).

The operator said the changes were designed to enable a reliable service to be maintained during the autumn leaf fall season, when trains are required to run at slightly lower speeds.

Services running from stations between Chester, Ellesmere Port, Southport and Birkenhead Central will depart up to three minutes earlier than currently timetabled, but arrive in Liverpool city centre at their usual time.

In turn, trains will depart Liverpool city centre at their usual times, but will arrive at corresponding stations up to three minutes later than normal.
