Delicious… or delusive?

Yet another really irritating PA message regularly inflicted on West Coast Main Line passengers is Avanti West Coast’s invitation to buy so-called “delicious hot and cold snacks… in the shop…” after announcing each of their trains’ impending arrival and departure.

It is, in my opinion, a good example of the lingering continuation of the arrogance of the Virgin/Branson years.

Which culinary expert concluded that all such items are in fact “delicious”? It’s certainly not been my experience, and as a consequence I never now buy in their ‘shop’.
