Nine-day closure to fix swing bridges

Network Rail has issued a reminder that sections of the Wherry and East Suffolk routes will be closed for nine consecutive days while major repairs are carried out to three swing bridges. Boat traffic on the Norfolk Broads will also be affected.

No trains will travel between Norwich and Lowestoft between October 22-30, with further work planned in 2023.

Additional work is planned during the month on the Norwich-Great Yarmouth and Sheringham routes.
