Class 37 rescues broken-down ‘68’
West Coast Railways 37706 drags TransPennine Express 68023 Achilles and its rake of Mk 5a coaches towards York on September 14. The ‘37’ was sent as a rescue train, following the failure of the ‘68’ near Seamer as it formed the 0534 Scarborough-York. The breakdown and subsequent recovery resulted in Scarborough to York shuttle services being suspended for much of the day, with rail replacement bus services running in their place.
